Good Life Habits-to make life easy

Good Life Habits-to make life easy will bring order into your daily routine and get rid of the chaos created by your bad habits. Replace them with better ones.

Instead of overthinking your goals, focus more on building good life habits.

Good habits lead to better performances. Good habits can change your life dramatically. Start by making your bed in the morning. This is an easy task that everyone can do. You can control your habits.  Good habits set you on the right track. Good habits get your day started on the right foot.

If you are overweight, this is most likely the result of poor eating habits. You can control what you eat and how much you eat. If you are in poor physical shape, again this is the result of poor exercise habits. Instead of focusing on losing 5 or 10 pounds, concentrate on what you eat and how much you eat. Change your habits, to change your life. Start small and start slowly. Forget about losing weight, just change your eating habits and get more exercise, the rest will take care of itself. Same story for getting things done around the house, and everything else.

From your habits, I can tell you the kind of person you want to become. You can influence your habits. You can control your habits and therefore control that part of your life. Your outcomes are the results of your habits. Every action you take is a step forward, for the person you want to become. A habit is behaviour repeated enough times to become automatic.

We become what we think and do. What we think about most of the time becomes what we are. Make changes in small increments. You won’t lose your 10 pounds today unless you are a highly trained professional fighter trying to make weight. These dramatic weight losses are “water” losses and not recommended for anyone. Do things in small bites and small bunches. In this manner, you have a better chance of being more consistent and achieving your goals.

“Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.” ― Lao Tzu

These words were written many years ago by the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu. They are as applicable today as when they were first put to paper. We become what we think of most of the time. This thinking leads us to do certain things that we call behaviour. Our actions are the result of our thoughts and somewhere in that process habits are formed. Every morning when we open our eyes to greet the new day, we all go through a series of activities that get us through that day. We have routines that we perform from the time we get up, to the time we go back to bed that evening.

Habits are formed by repeating some activity or behaviour many times. Studies have shown that an activity must be repeated about 35 times to become a habit. In another study, by a different author, the number had risen to 68 times. Regardless of the number, if we look at the numbers more closely, we can ascertain that it would take between 1 to 2 months to form a habit.

Let’s look at a few examples from our daily lives. Some of us make our beds every morning and some people don’t make their beds every day. If you made your bed upon awakening every day for one month, the odds are very good, that you would also make your bed the next 30 days. This number of repetitions would engrain the habit into your behaviour, and into your life.

Good habits are generally what we all want to cultivate. There is never a shortage of people, usually family and friends, to tell us how we could improve our character by acquiring a few good habits. The problem often begins here. What are good habits and what are bad habits?

Good habits take time to produce positive results …

and bad habits usually produce immediate results, but results that have a negative impact on our health and well-being.

Focus on building good habits, you will become a better person.
